Licensing iconic music for an iconic club: Manchester United x Underworld's Born Slippy.
When working on projects for iconic athletes and teams the music needs to match, and there are few more iconic teams than Manchester United and songs more iconic than Born Slippy by Underworld. As soon as we got the brief we knew it was going to be something special. The visuals aren’t glossy or perfect, they are real and raw and the track works perfectly to echo this sentiment.
Choosing an iconic ’90s track like Born Slippy was a bold and ambitious move, given its deep association with Trainspotting. While Underworld regularly decline brand requests for its use, the compelling nature of the film paired with adidas’ consistently high-quality football shirt launch productions convinced them to grant the license. The result was a powerful and memorable campaign that resonated deeply with fans, making the collaboration a true success.
